The blogsters travelled around the arena during the Gold Medal match at the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship polling fans on their favourite moments of the tournament.

USA-CANADA New Year’s Eve Shootout
In a battle for the top spot in Pool A, Canada scored two goals in the third period to send the game to a shootout. Jordan Eberle, Nazem Kadri and Brandon Kozun scored to give Canada the win.
Saskatchewan treating Latvia as one of their own
Latvia was the underdog in the tournament and Saskatchewan could relate. They cheered for the country throughout the tournament.
FamilyFest brought Disneyland to Saskatchewan
Kids had a blast shooting pucks like pros, meeting professional hockey players, touching the Stanley Cup and creating posters for teams. It created a buzz in Saskatoon prior to the tournament and gave everyone a chance to have a taste of the World Junior Championship.
Great bus service and traffic direction
Shuttles took fans back and forth to WorldFest and hotels throughout the city. It made getting to and from the Credit Union Centre a breeze. Fans had no trouble driving and parking at the facility. There were great volunteers directing cars to spots.
1990 & 1991 Team Canada Reunions
Members of the 1990 & 1991 gold medal Team Canada were in Saskatoon sharing memories and meeting fans. Those in Saskatoon included former NHLers Mike Sillinger and Trevor Kidd.
50/50 sets records
At the gold medal game nearly $300,000 was collected for the 50/50 draw. All throughout the tournament, the 50/50 was at record highs. Congrats to all the winners! (None of the blogsters took home any cash)
Switzerland beats Russia in overtime
Cinderella Switzerland battled tough pushing Russia to overtime in the quarter-final. They scored with a shot from the point with less than a minute left in the overtime.
Hockey Canada announces Olympic Team
Steve Yzerman and company brought extra hockey excitement to WorldFest with the announcement of the men’s hockey Olympic team. The team included three Saskatchewan born players – Ryan Getzlaf, Patrick Marleau and Brenden Morrow.

Whether you loved or hated them. The green jerseys were an exclusive special tribute to our province.
Team Canada Pep Rally
Community spirit for the tournament was built with a pep rally for Canada on Christmas Eve. It gave fans a chance to welcome Team Canada to Saskatoon and set the tone for fan apparel and enthusiasm.

Local bands along with Canadian legendary bands Trooper and April Wine entertained party crowds throughout the week!

Cameron Hughes kept fans cheering throughout the tournament. From Go Canada Go to Eh’ O Canada Go, Hughes knew how to get the crowd yelling!
